Samsung Electronics has collaborated with one of the leading energy suppliers in the UK, British Gas, and the aim is to offer a special energy tariff for customers who own eligible Samsung appliances.
The Korean tech giant has marked its name as the first brand which crack this kind of deal in the UK, where an appliance company and an energy provider have joined forces to offer an exclusive tariff to customers.
This new collaboration seems efficient for UK households to save money on their energy bills, as the newly launched fixed tariff under this partnership, called the Samsung Weekend Saver Fix, will offer customers half-price electricity on Saturdays between 11 am and 4 pm.
Apart from the current and new owners of eligible Samsung appliances, the British Gas customers who sign up for this tariff can also win free energy for one year for the household, which amounts to £1,755 in savings.
This tariff will be quite significant for customers, especially in particular scenes; for instance, they can schedule tasks like doing the laundry or vacuuming when they know they will be paying a much lower rate for electricity.
Noticeably, those who sign up for this tariff must have a smart electricity credit meter, a Samsung Account, and own an eligible product before October 31, 2026. Samsung has already released a list of eligible devices for this facility on its website, which includes several devices, as mentioned below –
- Washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridges, ovens, vacuums, selected mobile devices like Galaxy phones, tablets, TVs, gaming monitors, and more.
Regarding this, James Hughes, Head of Sales and Partnerships at British Gas, stated, “We’re excited to take another step forward in our relationship with Samsung and give customers smarter ways to manage their energy and save money through the use of the latest technology.”
