Samsung’s Exynos 1680 appears on Bluetooth SIG; it seems to power the Galaxy A57

Samsung is working on its latest in-house chipset, named Exynos 1680, suited to power mid-range devices, which has now appeared on Bluetooth SIG certification.

Under the hood, Samsung is actively working on the Exynos 2600 SoC, which is confirmed to power the next-generation Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus next year. Apart from this, the company is also working on one more in-house chipset, the Exynos 1680, based on a 3nm process.

It’s expected that the company will use the Exynos 1680 chipset to power the mid-range Galaxy A57 smartphone next year. Now the chipset has appeared on Bluetooth SIG certification, which reveals that it will support Bluetooth protocol v6.1. Codenamed S5E8865.

However, the Exynos 1680 has already appeared on other verified certifications, which revealed a peak speed of 2.0 GHz. However, it is expected to run at around 3.0GHz, and could be integrated with an AMD-powered Xclipse 550 custom GPU.

The Exynos 1680 could bring improvements across power efficiency, AI processing, and camera support. If all of these expectations come into existence, then the Galaxy A57 could bring major notable performance upgrades compared to its predecessor Galaxy A56.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Samsung had already started firmware testing for the Galaxy A57. The device is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2026; however, the official launch date has yet to be revealed.
