Samsung has ended software support for these Galaxy devices in 2025 [List]

Samsung retains its top spot among its rival smartphone manufacturers when it comes to delivering software updates to its entire Galaxy ecosystem. Meanwhile, the company has ended security updates for some of its Galaxy phones and tablets, so check out the list of devices that will no longer support software updates, be it security patches or major OS updates, from 2025.

Well, security patches are, however, only meant for increasing the device’s overall security and adding stability; they don’t even bring any major features or changes for the phones, while the major OS updates work entirely opposite, these updates bring several new and exciting features for an intuitive user experience.

But at the same time, these security patches significantly improve the device’s overall security, core functionality, and efficiency.

Samsung releases its security patches each month, and follows the distribution of the security updates or patches on a monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual basis, but the Galaxy devices receive them on the basis of the software update frequency they are destined for. For example, if the Galaxy S25 series belongs to the monthly security update frequency, then Samsung will provide security updates to the lineup on a monthly basis.

Not just this, Samsung keeps on shifting a few Galaxy devices more often to maintain an easy balance among its large group of models. Meanwhile, Samsung has ended the software update support for several Galaxy phones and tablets in 2025, as they are out of their eligibility criteria, and their software update policy has already reached its end of getting any further updates in the future.
