Samsung expands its December 2025 Security Update for Galaxy phones to Europe

Samsung is currently focusing on delivering the latest December 2025 security update for the Galaxy devices, while plenty of models have already been updated. With that said, the company is looking for the expansion of the update to even more countries, and thus, a few phones have started receiving the firmware in Europe.

The expansion of the December 2025 security update has now begun as Samsung is starting to roll out the update for the Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S24 series, S24 FE, as well as A55, which is now available in Europe, following South Korea. It’s worth noting that the update will be expanded to even more countries over the coming weeks.

Specifically, the latest December firmware for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra has been identified with the S921BXXS4CYK8, S926BXXS4CYK8, and S928BXXS4CYK8 version numbers, respectively. At the same time, the fan edition model of the Galaxy S24 family, the Galaxy S24 FE, is also getting the update, which carries the S721BXXS8CYL1 version number.

In addition to the Galaxy S24 family as well as the Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung is rolling out the latest update for the Galaxy A55 as well, which is receiving the update for the first time, starting with Europe, while the update is recognized by its A556BXXSBCYL1 version number.

However, the latest December 2025 security update is just a minor one, and doesn’t bring any major features and changes, but it is a significant part of Samsung’s monthly security patches, which packs a handful of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities and focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and efficiency to provide a secure user experience, while also protecting the device against external threats.

Additionally, the update further adds stability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations that eventually leads to a smoother, stable, and optimized experience for the users.
