Samsung opened the latest One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in a few select countries. After the Galaxy A55, the company seems to be internally developing the latest build for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 units.
Currently, the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series is only available for the phase 1 countries, including South Korea, the US, Germany, and the UK, while the phase 2 countries, like India and Poland, will join later, probably on December 22nd.
Meanwhile, a new post from Alfaturk, shared on X, revealed that Samsung has perhaps started the internal testing of the One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 models, which has been spotted on Samsung’s internal test servers, and the folding phone carries the F946BXXU5GYLB version number.
It’s important to note that the version number consists of the letter “B”, which suggests that Samsung is currently testing the One UI 8.5 version for the international variants, while it’s possible that the development will be expanded to even more countries, but only behind closed doors. Well, a handful of Galaxy devices have joined the One UI 8.5 internal testing as of now, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy A17, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

At the same time, it perhaps doesn’t seem like Samsung is in the mood to expand its ongoing One UI 8.5 beta program for several Galaxy devices, and it looks like the company could limit the beta program for a fewer models, with the Galaxy S25 series already being testing the new beta version, beginning from December 8th, in selective countries, while remaining countries will join sooner or later.
While the changelog has already leaked, showcasing several new and major upgrades, which apparently make the One UI 8.5 more superior than One UI 8 and even One UI 7.0 version, it remains to be seen when Samsung officially releases the One UI 8.5 version.
