Samsung Tests One UI 8.5 Beta 5 Ahead of Galaxy S26 Launch

Samsung is preparing another beta update for Galaxy S25 users before the final One UI 8.5 release. The company has started testing Beta 5, identified by build number ZZB5, according to leaker TarunVats.

This marks at least one more round of refinements before the stable version arrives. Beta 4 recently addressed phone app glitches and call-related bugs while introducing Direct Voicemail powered by Galaxy AI, complete with Audio Eraser functionality.

Beta 5 will likely focus on interface polish and stability improvements. There’s speculation that Samsung might include features initially developed for the Galaxy S26 series, though no release timeline has been confirmed.

The beta program remains exclusive to S25 owners. Users with the S24, S23, S22, and other eligible devices will skip the testing phase entirely and receive the stable build once it becomes available.

Samsung’s February 25 Unpacked event in California will unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup. The new phones will ship with One UI 8.5 pre-installed.

Industry observers expect the official update to drop on March 11, coinciding with the S26 release date. The S25 series and older flagships should receive the update shortly after, though Samsung hasn’t published a detailed rollout schedule.

The extended beta testing suggests Samsung is taking extra care to avoid the bugs that plagued earlier One UI versions. Whether Beta 5 is the last iteration before stable release depends on what issues testers uncover in the coming weeks.
