Samsung is testing a new AI feature for its Internet browser that could change how you research products online. Called “Ask AI,” it’s designed to pull information from multiple websites you’ve visited and answer questions in real time.
The feature was spotted in early One UI 9 test builds and works as an extension of the existing Browsing Assist tool. But instead of just summarizing the page you’re on, Ask AI can reference your recent browsing history to give more complete answers.
Here’s the practical use case: you’re shopping for running shoes and have tabs open from Nike, Adidas, and a few review sites. Instead of flipping between them to compare prices, materials, or sizing, you ask the AI a direct question. It scans everything you’ve looked at and gives you a consolidated answer.
It’s a logical step for Samsung, especially as the company doubles down on AI integration across its devices. The feature could save time for people who overthink purchases or just want to avoid the tab overload that comes with online shopping.
Privacy seems to be part of the design. You can choose whether the AI keeps your conversation history for the current session only or for up to three days. That’s a small but meaningful detail in an era where data retention is a growing concern.
One UI 9 isn’t expected until the second half of 2025, likely launching alongside Samsung’s next foldable phones. So this feature is still months away from public release. But if the early reports hold up, it suggests Samsung is building tools that feel useful rather than just flashy. Whether Ask AI becomes essential or just another forgotten browser add-on will depend on how well it actually works in daily use.
