Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Beta Rolls Out for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
Samsung has expanded its One UI 8.5 beta program to India, just hours after the initial launch in South Korea. Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 owners in the country can now sign up and start testing the new software ahead of its stable release.
The beta builds carry firmware version F956BXXU3ZZCD for the Z Fold 6 and F741BXXU3ZZCD for the Z Flip 6. Other markets, including the US, are expected to follow shortly.
Built on Android 16 QPR2, One UI 8.5 is not a minor refresh. The interface looks noticeably cleaner and more modern, and Samsung has added a meaningful layer of customisation on top. There are several new features across the board, and foldable users in particular should find a few additions worth paying attention to.
How to Join the Beta
The process is straightforward. Open the Samsung Members app, find the One UI 8.5 beta banner for your device, and register. Then head to Settings, tap Software Update, hit Download and Install, and the update should appear. Tap Install Now and you are good to go.
This is beta software, and that label means something. Bugs, unexpected crashes, and features that do not work as intended are all on the table. If your phone is a daily driver you cannot afford to have disrupted, sitting out the beta and waiting for the stable build makes more sense. That release is likely a couple of months out.
For everyone else, it is a good time to get an early look.
