Galaxy Watch 6 will have Temperature Measuring Abilities of Surroundings and Objects

Published

on

Samsung announced that the upcoming Galaxy Watch series would come with a range of new apps with more responsive, flexible, and multi-functional features, including Thermo Check, Samsung Wallet and WhatsApp, and many more. On the flip side, at a Galaxy Unpacked event this summer in Seoul, South Korea, the new generation Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic with its rotating bezel will drop alongside Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, on July 26, 2023.

This report suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 classic will bring a range of new applications along with the Thermo check application, which uses a new Skin Temperature API to use the infrared temperature sensor to gather measurements.

Thermo Check:

The company provides Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic a facility for sensing a temperature without even any physical contact. In this new Thermo Check feature, users can easily check the measurement of the temperature around them. For instance, they can measure the temperature of water as well as meals.

This happens because of the infrared technology of the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Somewhere it is possible because of the help of the new skin temperature API, which is a part of Samsung’s prerogative health software kit (SKD). After releasing this app, Galaxy’s upcoming watch will arrive in the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

Apart from the Thermo Check application, Samsung Wallet will also come to the new Galaxy Watch series too. Now users can easily make payments, provide IDs, and pull up show tickets with their Galaxy Watches. For your information, last year, Samsung Wallet combined Samsung Pay with Samsung Pass to consolidate more users’ wallets on their smartphones.

Samsung started stepping towards its next major software update for its Galaxy wearables and brought efficiency and health-tracking improvements, as it is now gearing up to release the One UI 6 Watch Beta update based on the latest version, Wear OS 5.

It’s not so long since Google unveiled its Wear OS 5 for smartwatches, and now, within a few days, Samsung has started working on the next update to enhance the smartwatch experience. Meanwhile, for the South Korean market, the Korean giant has listed One UI 6 Watch Beta on its website, which hints at its fast approach to release.

Samsung Begins Preparations for One UI 6 Watch Beta Update

The forthcoming update is most probably expected to be based on Wear OS 5, and it could be released sometime in the next few weeks. The Korean brand started internal development of the One UI 6 Watch a couple of days ago. This is being speculated by a post on X shared by a tipster who hinted that the One UI 6 Watch beta is incoming.

One UI 6 Watch Beta Update

Revising the previous release, the Korean giant released the Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch Beta update in early June 2023. Based on these metrics, it is expected that this time it could release the One UI 6 Watch Beta update to eligible Galaxy Watches in early June 2024. Wear OS 5 is based on Android 14, and the One UI 5 Watch will also be based on Android 14. This new version of Wear OS is expected to improve battery life through process optimization in Doze Mode.

One UI 6 Watch Beta Update

Smartwatches with Wear OS 5 offer 20% longer battery life while running a marathon, as Google revealed. It also makes the Watch Face Format, developed by Samsung, the default format, which means most third-party watch faces should now help smartwatches get longer battery life. Some other features are also expected from One UI 6 Watch, such as support for passkeys, the ability to restore passkeys from the cloud, a simpler login experience, and many more.

Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra’s Hint at Major Design Changes

Published

Samsung is close to adding a new lineup to its wearable smartwatch family soon, with the title Galaxy Watch 7 Series. Now the renders of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra hint that the watch will appear in a squarish design with more details.

At the next Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2024, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will make its debut. Now Smartprix with the collaboration with OnLeaks reported the exclusive 5K renders of the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. Let’s take a closer look at what new novelties are in line for the upcoming movie.

The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is reported to bring some interesting design changes, including the most prominent one: a squarish look, a third physical button, larger speakers, and a few expected watch band charges. A glance at the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra renders unveiled a squarish outer frame around the circular display, along with a shiny rotating bezel that doesn’t appear to blend very well with the matte frame. However, even after this change, the watch will stand on a rounded, circulatory display, ensuring that the core visual appeal remains known to long-time users and that the UI doesn’t have to be rebuilt for a square display.

It’s reported that the Galaxy Watch 7 will feature a 1.5-inch display with slightly larger dimensions of 47 x 47.4 x 16.4 mm. However, the reason behind this design choice remains unclear, but it does make the Watch 7 Ultra bulkier. The bezel of the watch is marked with subtle lines and minimalistic indicators, a departure from the numeric indicators found on the Watch 6 Classic bezel.

A noticeable change is also reported, which is a third circular button housed in the middle on the right side of the watch. This new button, which lies close to the traditional two, could offer new functionalities to the Galaxy Watch, the same as the Action Button placed on the Apple Watch Ultra.

A new alignment of health sensors will appear in a circular array of individual circles and squares, opposite to the seamless ring of sensors found on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Notably, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra retains the temperature sensor, but it has been placed a bit upwards towards the center. The watch bands also appear to integrate more seamlessly with the watch body, offering a cleaner look. Also alongside the sensor array, two button-like elements are placed at the top and the bottom.

These could be disconnecting the watch bands, a design shift from the predecessor Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, where the buttons were on the watch bands themselves. The upcoming watch will also have a larger speaker grill, which is positioned to the left of the watch and is noticeably larger than those on the current Galaxy Watch models.

Tiny ‘holes’ on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra seem like microphones. Samsung also seems to be going full-on with the mic and audio experience on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. The previous reports already suggested that the Galaxy Watch 7 series will have a new chipset, charge 50% faster than its predecessor, and finally bring blood sugar monitoring

From this light, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge laptop has already been officially announced. Now, if we focus on the Galaxy Watch lineup, there are three models listed, where one is the FE version, which is probably the most affordable smartwatch from Samsung, and then there is the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which comes in two models, including the bse and ultra variants.

What can we expect with the Galaxy Watch 7 series?
