Do the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 retail boxes include a wall charger?

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 came with several exciting features and upgrades; the only disappointing thing is that these premium foldable flagship devices do not come with a wall charger in their boxes.

Why is wall charger not included in the Galaxy retail box?

Although, both of these foldable devices do not include a wall charger in their box because all Samsung smartphones come with the USB Type-C cables and most smartphone boxes do not include an earphone and a charger inside their boxes as these products can significantly impact our environment. So to keep the environment safe and to help grow the e-waste, Samsung does not include wall chargers and earphones within the boxes.

Samsung Galaxy Ring could ask for a subscription to access the full functionality

Galaxy Ring With Samsung Health

The Korean brand ‘Samsung’ is looking forward to expanding its smart wearable device range by introducing the latest smart wearable Galaxy device. The Galaxy Ring is the next in line to make its debut. As reported, the upcoming Galaxy Ring will ask you for subscriptions to access full functionality.

Galaxy Ring is the first-ever smart wearable ring of the Korean giant, which will bring advanced health monitoring features, but to access the full functionality, it will ask you for a subscription. Although a subscription for the wearable device is not new, Samsung would not be the first brand to couple its hardware or features to a subscription.

On the comparison side, the Whoop 4.0 strap offers the strangest example; you get the tracker free with a membership, but the membership is the actual cost. Also, the Oura Ring 3 asks you for a monthly subscription to access most features, with only basic data available for free.

If Samsung adopts a similar model, features presently free on Galaxy Rings and watches might be locked behind subscriptions. However, it would not be beneficial or even make any sense for the Korean giant to copy Oura. Since the Galaxy Ring will be its first smart ring, rendering most of its features inaccessible would stop fulfilling the satisfaction of customers.

The giant isn’t disinclined to wall off features, either. It reserves its Watch’s blood pressure monitoring and ECG readings for Galaxy phone users, even if the essential hardware is built into the watch, not the phone. The company is setting up to introduce new health features that require complex calculations based on Galaxy AI, which might justify subscription fees in the future, particularly keeping in mind Samsung’s lack of commitment to free Galaxy AI access beyond 2025 on Galaxy S series smartphones.

Noticeably, a subscription service for Galaxy smart wearable devices will be worthwhile when it offers personalized wellness guidance powered by Galaxy AI; currently, Samsung Health lacks this feature. However, each brand does not ask for a subscription fee to process and contextualize your fitness level and health. It will be interesting to see how much Samsung will ask to pay for the subscription.

A New Samsung Galaxy Ring gets US Patent approval: Maybe the Galaxy Ring 2

Galaxy Ring

The Korean brand ‘Samsung’ is expanding its smart wearable products by introducing the brand’s ever-first smart wearable ring called the Galaxy Ring. Before the launch of the first-generation smart ring, a new Galaxy Ring that received US patent approval could be the Galaxy Ring 2.

The Korean giant will introduce a bunch of the latest Galaxy products at the next Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris at the Louvre Museum on July 10, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Buds 3, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Ring.

Before any official announcement regarding the Galaxy Ring leaks and rumors, there were already a lot of details reported. Previously, mosaic promo images of all the products expected to launch at the upcoming event were leaked, suggesting Galaxy Ring could also be a part of it. The Galaxy Ring’s FCC certification revealed multiple details about the forthcoming health-tracking device. It has already been reported that the Galaxy Ring is expected to arrive in different variants based on sizes ranging from 5 to 12.

The ring is expected to feature a 17 mAh battery for the 5, 6, and 7 sizes. Whereas the bigger sizes, including 8, 9, 10, and 11, would feature an 18.5 mAh battery. The bigger ring, size 12, would have a 22.5 mAh battery. The differently designed charging case of the Galaxy Ring was also revealed in early leaks, which suggest that the case is similar to Ringconn’s charging case.

Meanwhile, the first-generation Galaxy Ring has yet to officially launch; allegedly, a new Samsung Galaxy Ring has received US patent approval. If the report by 91Mobiles is to be believed, the patent was filed back in May 2024 at the US Patent Application Publication, and it reveals some key details of the design of the alleged Galaxy Ring 2. The patent suggests a circular ring, with the sensors housed inside the inner layer.

The notable change that the patent reveals is that the new version has a squarish outer layer. The ring also appears to be a bit elongated and is not a circular ring, such as in the present Galaxy Ring’s design. It is speculated that the squarish outer layer might have an AMOLED display to interact with and view the health stats. It is also reported that the ring could arrive with an ECG sensor, temperature sensor, acceleration sensor, fingerprint sensor, and more.
