Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 put to the test: How durable are they?
Samsung’s most anticipated lineup of foldable, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 been, launched at the Unpacked event in Seoul a few days ago. The firm shows off the durability of its most recent foldable through the video it shared on the official Samsung Youtube page. Here the foldable undergoes folding, tumble, water resistance, Environmental chamber, drop, steel ball drop, and S Pen drawing test. The clip titled – Reliability Tests: Galaxy Z Fold 5 | Z Flip 5 reveals the foldable undergoing a variety of tests to determine its longevity.
The foldable is known for screen flexing and bending, which enables it to change from being a smartphone to a tablet. In the folding test, both foldable are continuously folded 200,000 times using a machine designed for the purpose. The new hinge is put through an intense durability examination in this test. Next, the Fold 5 and Flip 5 are put inside a closed machine, and the models are rotated upside down in the tumble test, which tests the construction of the models.
Water resistance test is performed into two categories; an IPX8 test by immersing the foldable in water for at least half an hour, and the products continue to function. In another IPX4 test, the water is showered from all over to penetrate water into the phones. Environmental chamber test verifies the foldable ability to withstand heat and cold temperatures. Drop test and steel ball drop test are performed to detect the longevity and the screen durability against scratches.

Finally, the model undergoes an S Pen drawing test by continuing to scribble on the screen using the S pen. The firm has proved the resistance of the foldable through this, but we need to wait for the JerryRigEverything durability test for a better brief understanding of the foldable.
