Google Decided To Shut Down Google Meet On Samsung TV

There are several applications housed in Samsung TVs, but now it appears that an already existing app is shutting down, named Google Meet, as of March 9, 2024.

Google Meet debuted back in 2022 on Samsung TV, and now it appears that soon it will shut down. It helps people to make and take video calls directly from their Samsung TV, just as they would from a bigger-screen device—a tablet, smartphone, or PC—for which the brand has plugged a webcam into the TV. However, Google Meet delivers the same functionality as well as facilities on Google TV and Android TV.

But now the reports are saying that Google decided to shut down Google Meet on Samsung TV. If the reports are to be believed, a reader apparently saw a notice on their TV, which states that the Google Meet app will shut down on March 9, 2024. And somewhere, this will affect Samsung Smart Monitors, which deliver the same Tizen-based experience as TVs, and where a Google Meet application literally appears more useful.

Although it is not clear why Google has come up with this decision, Also, a few days ago, Google shut down Assistant support on Samsung TVs as well.
