Samsung Smartphone Sales High in the US During Q1 2024

Published

on

The Galaxy S24 seems like a good luck button for Samsung! Just after the debut of the Galaxy S24 series, the revenue and profits of the Korean giant went on cloud nine. It breaks a record of four years, as Samsung smartphone sales have risen in the US more than in the previous four years.

It was already revealed within a few days after its debut, the Samsung Galaxy S24 broke the sales record of its predecessor series. Now again, the reports are unveiling the new metrics of success, as the Galaxy smartphone market share within the first quarter of this year was 31%, which is a 14% boost as compared to last year’s first quarter (Q1 2023) when the brand’s market share stuck near 27%.

The boost in market share appears to have come at the expense of Google’s and TCL’s shipments. With a rise of 31% in the market, the share reached a four-year high after 2020. However, here’s the catchable fact: even after a boost in sales, Samsung remained the second-biggest smartphone brand behind Apple

Apple was the leading  smartphone brand in the US during the quarter. It had a market share of 52%, similar to its metrics for 2023. That’s impressive, and it appears that the debut of the Galaxy S24 series didn’t affect Apple since it is still leading the market share. However, a huge range of people are choosing Samsung’s high-end phones, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung has already started gearing up for its next-generation smartphone, which is supposed to be launched in early 2025 and is named the Galaxy S25 series. The ultra variant of the series could be thinner as compared to the current Galaxy S series’ ultra variants.

Recently, it’s been reported that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a round corner to avoid inconvenient scenes like crushing the palm while using the device without a case. Now the same tipster is suggesting that Samsung could design the forthcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra thinner than its predecessors.

If the new report is to be believed, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be 8.4 mm thick, a good 0.2 mm thinner than the current, latest Galaxy S24 Ultra. If this report comes true, then this will be a noteworthy and convenient change that the next-generation device will bring.

Following the measurements of the Ultra variant of the Galaxy S series since the S21 series, it became known that the Koren giant has been stuck at 8.9 mm thickness.

A well-reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, on X, hinted that the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a body thickness of 8.4 mm. If this prediction comes true, then the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the thinnest S Ultra model in recent years. Let’s take a closer look at the measurements of the currently available ultra variants of Samsung:

  • Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra measure 8.9mm.
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra measures 8.6mm.

However, Samsung has yet to reveal the official specs and design, including the measurements of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It will be interesting to see whether this report comes into existence or not.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be available in new color

Samsung is all set to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in 2024 on July 10 in Paris. The biggest part of the event will be the next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. An Australian retailer has posted renders of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in each color variant. Let’s take a closer look at the renders.

However, the renders don’t offer any unique details of the phone, since the previous leaks and rumors have already revealed much more about both fold and flip devices. But the most noticeable part is the color options. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is available in yellow, and the other colors also look pretty. Similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the cover screen is surrounded by black bezels.

The giant has added a colored ring around the camera lenses to match the phone’s color; it seems pretty elegant. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a sharper and more angular design on full display. This new design gives it a classy and more professional look in a way that we have seen on the Galaxy S24 Utlra. Apart from this, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 will feature a titanium frame, the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The brand will introduce these foldables at the launch event in Paris on July 10. Apart from the foldable, the brand will also debut more Galaxy products, including its ever-first smart ring, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. If you are interested, you can already reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 and get a $50 credit.

Galaxy S25 Ultra to Feature Rounded Design Similar to Galaxy Note 7

Published

Samsung usually tries new and significant changes to give a new boost to the user experience; that’s exactly the case with the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. It might bring about a big design change.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will take the floor in early 2025, as expected. Similar to its predecessor series, the Galaxy S25 will also include three variants: the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The new report says that the Ultra variant of the Galaxy S25 series could bring a major design change.

If the report is to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will not appear in sharper corners. This is in contrast to the recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra. The reason behind this major change seems to be that the sharper corners of the current Galaxy S24 can dig into the users’ palms and cause inconvenience if the device is not covered with a case. However, it is not exactly clear yet whether the entire corner is curved or if its edges are more rounded.

Samsung has yet to announce any announcement regarding the Galaxy S25 series, but it seems that the giant will dedicatedly overcome the shortcomings of the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. Following the previous launching schedules, it’s expected that the device will be announced sometime early next year. It is rumored that Samsung will upgrade the cameras massively with its next flagship phone. According to some reports, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP super-telephoto with 5x optical zoom. On the flip side, a 12 MP selfie camera could be housed.

It will be interesting to see what new novelties the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will bring.
