Samsung & Qualcomm Collaborate for Automotive Memory Solution

Samsung Electronics announced that its LPDDR4X memory has been approved for use in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis.

Samsung’s LPDDR4X memory will be used in premium car infotainment systems and more advanced driver assistance technologies. The new automotive LPDDR4X qualification is evidence of the company’s dedicated long-term support to customers with a variety of new products and technologies for automotive applications.

It also makes sure to ensure robust supply chain stability and enhanced support for ecosystem partners who are utilizing the Snapdragon Digital Chassis.

The Korean tech giant is electrified to partner with Qualcomm to present reliable and premium memory solutions for the automotive industry. Samsung’s expertise in memory design, manufacturing, and packaging will help Qualcomm develop products quickly and significantly.

Hyunduk Cho, Vice President and Head of the Automotive Group at Samsung Electronics Memory Business, said, “With a broad automotive lineup of AEC-Q1001-qualified DRAM and NAND products, Qualcomm Technologies is an ideal partner to work with for long-term customer solutions.”

On the other side, Samsung is also active in building its next-generation automotive LPDDR5, and samples are expected to be available by the end of this year. The LPDDR5 product will be able to support the highest speed currently available in the automotive memory market at up to 9.6 Gbps, even in extreme temperatures.
