Samsung Galaxy AI maintains early lead over Apple Intelligence

Earlier this year, Samsung registered its lead to introduce AI-powered tools under the Galaxy AI title, very first in the tech industry. Now in the final quarter of the year, Apple officially introduced its AI-powered suite with the title Apple Intelligence.

Samsung and Apple are the two biggest rival brands of each other in the tech industry and never skip the chance to stand strong against each other. In the race for generative AI tools, Samsung led the race by debuting earlier this year, while Apple is now setting up to offer AI tools publicly.

On the comparison side, initially, Apple announced its AI suite earlier this summer at WWDC but made it available only for developers. Now finally Apple is starting to roll out publicly, but there are some major caveats, and they might help Galaxy AI become even more popular.

Samsung exclusively introduced the Galaxy AI features with the Galaxy S24 series, but later, with the One UI 6.1.1 update, it made the AI-powered tools available on more than a dozen eligible Galaxy devices and even added languages. Whereas Apple Intelligence is only compatible with particular iPhone devices, which are as follows:

  • iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone Pro Max, iPad mini, iPad Pro & Air with M1 and later chips, Macs & MacBooks with M1 and later, Mac Studio with M1 Max and later, and Mac Pro with M2 Ultra chip.

Apple intelligence is currently limited; it has yet to be accessible to all Apple devices and is only available in English (US). However, it’s expected that more languages and devices will gain access over the next year, and the full potential of Apple Intelligence is still being rolled out gradually. This is the key advantage for Samsung to carry on its leading dignity without much struggle.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite is quite advanced compared to Apple’s AI-powered suite, as it supports more languages and is accessible in a wide range of regions. Apple needs to take more advanced steps soon to match Samsung’s Galaxy AI level.
