One UI 6.5 Watch Could Let You Keep AOD Enabled for Apps on Galaxy Watches

It appears like with an upcoming One UI watch update (One UI 6.5 Watch), Samsung’s Galaxy watches could probably be able to stay active while putting down the wrist.

In case you missed it! A few days back, Google already introduced the latest Wear OS 5.1 update for its Pixel smartwatches, while Samsung’s Galaxy watches running One UI 6 Watch will soon be able to experience the elegance of this newest version in the future.

Substantially, sometimes when opening any app on the Galaxy smartwatch and not using it for a while, it forces it to go in the background, and the watch face takes over the app’s space. This is due to the fact that these apps do not support AOD.

Google Upgrades AOD Features in Wear OS 5.1 for a More Seamless Experience

Meanwhile, with the latest Android 15-based Wear OS 5.1 update (as reports from 9To5Google say), it’s possible that Samsung’s Galaxy Watches’ upcoming One UI Watch update (One UI 6.5 Watch) may force apps that do not support AOD to efficiently run or stay active even if the user does not use the app or keep the wrist down.

As the latest version adds a new Force Global AOD Experience toggle within the Developer options. This feature addition may force apps to remain active just like an AOD even if they are not being used currently.

Since the information remains so scarce at this point in time, Google’s Pixel smartwatches are gradually receiving the newest version. Predicting the timeline for Samsung’s upcoming One UI Watch build for the Galaxy watches apparently doesn’t make any sense.
