Google to offer Material You themed Gemini widget for home screen on Android

Google’s Material You theme has been its iconic design for years on Android; meanwhile, the design is soon going to hit Gemini via its home screen widget for Android owners.

Initially, Google has added the Material You coloring theme within the Android Auto, now, the Material 3 design is making its way Gemini’s home screen widget with a stunning Dynamic coloring theming, which is going be highly resizable or customizable, thanks to the reports presented by 9ToGoogle!

Gemini Material You Widget

According to the reports (spotted with the latest 1.0.751104895 version of Gemini app), the Material You themed Gemini widget can easily range from 1 x 1 and can go maximum up to 5 x 3 on Android’s home screen.

At the same time, the new bar apparently resembles Google Keep’s redesign, which will allow users to launch the Gemini app by just tapping the sparkle (Gemini app) icon, while also opening the keyboard automatically. Next up, users can see the microphone icon in order to read aloud any needed Gemini prompts.

Additionally, there’s a camera icon as well that provides users a shortcut capability to attach an image from the Gallery. Not only this, the Gemini widget can easily expand itself to fit into the user’s home screen in such a way that the user can see all the main shortcuts at once.

Specifically, these shortcuts are significantly placed in a square or rectangular-shaped grid alongside a Gemini or Ask Gemini labels within a bar at the top, all while constricting the widget into 2 x 2 measurement which is the smallest size here. With that said, users can download and install the Gemini app via Google Play Store.
