Samsung could offer a new Private Album feature with One UI 8

Samsung has already started working on its Next major OS update, Android 16-based One UI 8, which is anticipated to bring a new way to hide private images.
Recently, it’s been reported that Samsung could start the One UI 8 beta program by the end of this month. Now, a new report suggests that the company plans to add an extra layer of privacy over private images.
A tipster, @DalgleishGX, on X, shared a post claiming that the latest leaked One UI 8 build adds a Private Album feature to Samsung Gallery. This means that the update will bring a new way to hide private images to enhance users’ secure experience. He also hints that the new Private Album feature is highly expected to work like Secure folder, but noticeably exclusively for photos and videos.

Samsung’s Secure Folder is a feature that lets you create a dedicated as well encrypted space on your Galaxy devices to store private content, including photos, videos, files, and apps. On the opposite side, the newly leaked Private Album is expected to be exclusive for photos and videos only.

However, currently there’s no official word regarding the existence of the Private Album feature; it remains to be seen whether the One UI 8 will bring this feature. In a recent report, it was revealed that the coming update will fix Secure Folder’s privacy breach issue.
