One UI 8 Watch May Be Final Major Update for These Galaxy Watches

Samsung is actively working on its next major OS update for its Galaxy smartwatches, the One UI 8 Watch, while the fans have already witnessed various leaks and rumors circulating online. If you own a Galaxy Watch, you must be curious to know whether One UI 8 Watch could be the last software update for your smartwatches; here’s all you need to know.
The Galaxy Watch ecosystem will enter into a new chapter with the newest One UI 8 Watch that will be based on Google’s Wear OS 6 and is supposed to arrive with the next-generation smartwatch portfolio, Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, out of the box.
While Wear OS 6 will power Samsung Galaxy watches on top of One UI 8 Watch, the fresh version is said to bring some helpful yet significant changes for the Galaxy watches, including new charging animations, new app tiles, and the addition of a new Antioxidant Index feature, and the UI design might resemble Google’s Material 3 Expressive design.
More specifically, not all the Galaxy watches will be eligible to receive the upcoming One UI 8 Watch, and there are even certain watches that will get One UI 8 Watch as their last major OS update. This list consists of the Galaxy Watch 4 series, with the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic being the first lineup to debut when Samsung made a significant shift from Tizen OS to Wear OS.
Well, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 4 series back in 2021, and according to the software update cycle, the watch lineup is currently only eligible to receive 4 years of OS updates.
Therefore, considering this timeframe, the Galaxy Watch 4 series may get Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch, or it’s even possible that it might not receive One UI 8 Watch at all.
Since there’s no official statement from Samsung’s side, if the Galaxy Watch 4 series gets the One UI 8 Watch update, then it will be its last major OS update.
