Galaxy smartwatches to receive a new feature to prevent unintentional ringing

Samsung Galaxy Watch users, get ready to use a new convenient feature that prevents your watch from unintentional ringing without authorisation.

Google is looking forward to upgrading the Find My Phone features on smartwatches based on Wear OS, although the upgrade potentially won’t arrive via a regular firmware update. The ‘Find My Phone’ feature on Samsung Galaxy Watch permits users to locate their connected Galaxy Phone in case it’s misplaced or lost.

This feature is quite convenient in a scenario where you have lost or misplaced your device. Google Pixel Watches and other smartwatches feature a ‘Find my phone” functionality in their quick settings. Clicking on this toggle makes the paired smartphone ring, despite the device being set to silent or vibrate mode.

Noticeably, in recent days, Google has introduced a new feature on its smartwatches; previously, users only needed to press the toggle to make the associated smartphone ring, now with the new upgrade, the system requires confirmation.

This new change will no longer make it possible to unintentionally make the smartphone ring, perhaps by mistakenly pressing the toggle while looking for other functions. This new feature is rolling out to all Pixel Watches with Wear OS 5.1. However, a report suggests that it’s also appearing on other smartwatches with Google’s operating system, which means Galaxy Watches will also get this new upgrade.
