Samsung’s Smart Monitor to Receive the Same Long-Term Updates as Galaxy Flagships

Samsung announced that it will offer seven years of long-lasting OS updates support to its newly launched Smart Monitor M8, which comes with Tizen OS 9.0 pre-installed.

A few weeks back, Samsung introduced its latest Smart Monitor lineup for 2025, which includes three models as follows:

  • Smart Monitor M7, Smart Monitor M8, and Smart Monitor M9.

The company already disclosed the key details of the Smart Monitor M9 a few weeks ago, and now the information about the Smart Monitor M8 has only been revealed. According to the new announcement, the Smart Monitor M8 model for this year holds the model number S32FM80, but it can only depend slightly on the country or market.

Currently, it runs Tizen OS 9.0 with a newer One UI interface that debuted earlier this year. The company has promised to offer 7 years of OS updates to the monitor.

The newly introduced Smart Monitor M8 features a 32-inch VA panel with 4K resolution, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a 4 ms response time, up to 400 nits peak brightness, and full HDR10+ support. The monitor has two 5W speakers in a stereo setup with Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Adaptive Sound Pro and a Slim Fit Camera for video calls.

The Monitor is powered by the NQM AI processor, which includes an NPU for AI-powered 4K upscaling for videos. Noticeably, it is compatible with the Click to Search feature, which will identify actors, places, objects, and food items on the screen and offer more information about them. The company also integrated a few more convenient features, such as Samsung TV+, Multi View, SmartThings, Microsoft 365, Multi Control, and Wireless Samsung DeX.

It also has a few connectivity features, including two HDMI 2.0 ports (with CEC), a USB Type-C port with 65W USB PD power output, two USB Type-A ports, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, AirPlay 2, Miracast, and Smart View.
