One UI 7 Phones Could Get One UI 8-Inspired Quick Share Redesign

Samsung’s One UI 8 version brought about some noticeable yet key changes in the UI of the Quick Share app; meanwhile, it is possible that this revamped Quick Share could make its way to older-generation devices running One UI 7.

Indeed, the integration of One UI 8 support apparently makes sharing of pictures, videos, and files a little easier and quicker; the addition of dedicated Receive or Send modes makes the entire interface a little more convenient than ever before. At the same time, Google has also followed in the footsteps of Samsung’s redesigned Quick Share.

Meanwhile, Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Quick Share app, which takes it to an all-new version number, v13.8.01.11, and is now available to download via the Galaxy Store.

Most prominently, the changelog lists a few interesting elements, including the addition of Receive mode for quick and easy file transfers and the addition of Send mode for the selection and sharing of files in Quick Share, features that are currently only available for the Galaxy devices supporting One UI 8. This eventually suggests that Samsung is perhaps looking towards integrating One UI 8-based Quick Share to older devices running One UI 7 as well.

At the same time, the update further adds the ability where only the unsent files will be sent when resending files after something goes wrong with file transfer or they are cancelled. The update also increases the limit of characters when writing device names, which will make identification easier. And lastly, the update further brings support for file transfer in Quick Share to nearby devices.
