One UI 6 Will Closes the Update Cycle for Select Samsung Devices

July proves to be an enthralling month, brimming with exciting news for enthusiasts of the Korean brand. Samsung has ingeniously scheduled the Galaxy Unpacked event, where they are set to unveil many new devices. However, the anticipation doesn’t end there; fans eagerly await the unveiling of One UI, the company’s proprietary interface, which now stands at version 6, built upon the foundations of Android 14.
With the release of Android 14 Beta 4, Google’s software has reached a level of stability, so Samsung can proceed with the launch of its beta program; in fact, the company has already started updating apps with One UI 6.0 support a few weeks ago.
As per the previous report, the beta version of One UI 6.0 would begin to launch in the third week of July for the Samsung Galaxy S23 range and soon after for other devices eligible to receive it.
Since Android 14 has yet to officially arrive on Samsung devices, we have compiled a list of devices that will have to spend the rest of their time with One UI 6. There is little clarity here since Samsung’s software update policy is quite clear.
These 19 countries may participate Samsung One UI 6 Beta Program
Upon its initial release, the Galaxy S21 series had a guaranteed update plan up to Android 14. However, Samsung has now gone beyond this commitment and extended the software support period. As a result, the upcoming Android 14 will not mark the last OS upgrade for the Galaxy S21 series, and it will also get the Android 15 update as per the same plan. And the same is true for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Because both these phones were launched in the same year that the Galaxy S21 series was launched, but it does not include the Fan Edition.
The Galaxy S21 FE, launched in 2022, comes equipped with Android 12 straight out of the box. And with the revised software update policy introduced in the same year, eligible devices will now be upgraded to Android 16. In other words, the Galaxy S21 FE will continue to receive major Android updates along with the Galaxy S22 series because these devices were launched in the same year and on the same operating system.
No More One UI Major Software Update For Galaxy Smartphones & Tablets
All high-end phone models released after the Galaxy S21 series qualify for the four software updates. On the other hand, some mid-range Galaxy A, M, and F models will remain on Android 14 for their entire lifecycle.
One UI 6: The Final Major Update for These Samsung Devices
In the case of the Galaxy A series, three OS updates are guaranteed, and they will continue to receive major upgrades to One UI 6 after being updated to Android 14. As for some mid-range and budget-friendly phones in the Galaxy M and Galaxy F series will only receive two operating system updates.
