Samsung’s ISOCELL HW1 and HW2 could be the First 1-Inch 432MP Camera Sensors for Smartphones
Recent work from Samsung makes the business a leader in high-resolution image sensors, raising the bar significantly. In the new ISOCELL HW series, also known as the ISOCELL HW1 and ISOCELL HW2, Samsung is reportedly working on two further sensor miracles. These sensors are unique because of their large sensor size in addition to their astounding 432-megapixel resolution. Samsung is creating two new ISOCELL camera sensors: the ISOCELL HW1 and ISOCELL HW2, according to a claim made by tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) on the X platform. These are the first ISOCELL HW series sensors made by the firm.
Samsung 432MP Camera Sensor: ISOCELL HW1 & HW2
A massive 432MP resolution and a 1/1.05-inch (almost 1-inch) sensor are claimed for the ISOCELL HW1. The pixels are supposed to be 0.56 m in size. With 0.5 m pixels and a 432 megapixel resolution, the ISOCELL HW2 is a somewhat different 1/1.07-inch (almost 1-inch) sensor. However, we don’t know what is true and what is not, but if this development from the firm comes out, Samsung looks to be developing 1-inch sensors that will also have a resolution that is twice as high as its current-generation flagship camera sensors. Although the ISOCELL HW1 and HW2 promise exceptional resolution and sensor sizes, their integration into actual handsets will be the true test.
If Samsung is successful, we could soon have access to cameras with previously unthinkable capabilities right in our hands. The tipper also made a number of outrageous claims. Revegnus claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will employ the same sensor as the Galaxy Z Flip 5. On the other hand, the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP5 camera in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and 0.5-m pixel size. Unfortunately, the source has not provided any details on the other smartphones that would use these Samsung sensors.
This will be tough competition from Samsung to firms like Sony that have been developing large camera sensors for smartphones. Starting with the 200 MP sensor from Samsung and now two 1-inch ISOCELL camera sensors is a great way to go.
