One UI 6 support discontinued for a number of Galaxy devices

Today, Samsung made it official that they’re sending out the Android 14 update to the Galaxy S23 phones. They also told us which other Galaxy phones will get this update in the near future.

Android 14 for Samsung phones is called One UI 6.0. This update brings some improvements from Google and also makes changes to the way Samsung’s software looks and works. With this update, you’ll get new camera features, fresh emoji, and more. But for now, it’s only available for the Galaxy S23 phones, and they’re the first ones to get it.

The integrated improvements are many, with new features in the graphic part, more freedom of customization on the lock screen, update of Samsung applications such as Health, a new quick control bar and notifications, improvements in the keyboard and emojis, also in the mobile photography part and much more that you can consult right here.

Samsung promises to update some of their devices every four years with new versions of the operating system and every five years with security updates. This includes certain phones from the Galaxy S series, the Galaxy Z foldable series, and the Galaxy A series. Specifically, phones like the Galaxy S21 and newer, the Galaxy A33, A53, A73, and newer A series phones, and third-generation and newer Galaxy Z foldable phones will get these updates.

One UI 6.0 won’t available for these Samsung smartphones

There are some popular devices which are running on Android 13-based One UI 5.x but will not get the next one, the One UI 6.0 update. Their names are listed below.

Now, let’s talk about something important. Some people were thinking that the Galaxy S20 series, Note 20 series, Flip/5G, and Fold 2 wouldn’t get One UI 6.0, but the way Samsung said it seems like they will. In a note on Samsung’s blog post, they mentioned a new camera feature that needs One UI 6.0 or a newer version, which suggests that these devices will be getting the update.

  2. It’s really bad that they won’t update note series anymore. As samsung isn’t making note series anymore but they should keep remaining devices update so note lovers can experience same thing and they don’t have to dump their devices.

    Who agrees with me?

  3. They merged the note and the s series instead of calling it the note 22 they called it the s22 ultra so if note users want to upgrade to a new phone that’s square and has a spen they will just buy the ultra version of the s series
