Samsung Galaxy S24: Release Date, Features, Prices and Everything that is known so far

Published

on

The Galaxy S24 series is the next big thing from Samsung, which will be a gift from the firm’s side to the lovers of the Galaxy S flagship series. We have enough time—around two months—for the release of the S24 gadgets, but till now we have come across plenty of information, or, in other words, speculations. With all that information, we can prepare a brief report on the Galaxy S24 series.

Early Unpacked Event for the Galaxy S24 Series:

Samsung always has a traditional timeline, which it follows every time for each and every series of its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy S23 series was released in February 2023, but its successor will come out quite earlier than before. Looking back to the release of the fifth generation of foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, a little earlier, Samsung has proved that it can change the time frame based on their wishes. Following up with several reports, January 17, 2024, is when the Unpacked Galaxy event will be held in San Jose, California, USA, which is the home of its top rival Apple.

Galaxy S24 variants:

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are the three sets of variants that will be included in the series for launch. S24 will be the basic model, followed by the Plus variant, which will be a little enhanced, and finally the Ultra variant, which will be the most advanced and expensive one, with improved camera features and display among the three of them.

Processor :

The Samsung Exynos 2400 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are the two processors that will power up the S24 trio. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ will be powered up by the Exynos 2400 based on the region; however, the ultra variant will be occupied with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor all around the world.

Price range:

It is still too early to talk about the price of the Samsung Galaxy S24, although taking into account what happened with the Z Fold5 compared to the previous model, we can expect a generalized price increase in all models in the line.

Display and Appearance:

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to have flat screens, straight side edges, and aluminum and glass bodies, while the other two devices are expected to maintain a design that is consistent with the current generation, with curves reserved for the Ultra model only. As of right now, it is evident that all the S24 models will have highly similar designs, as per the leaked images.

With perfectly symmetrical bezels running the length of the screen, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s front will see the most changes. Dynamic AMOLED 2x high-quality display screens are also anticipated for improved brightness.

The smartest Galaxy phones from Samsung:

It is said that the Galaxy S24 series will be the smartest phones ever released by Samsung. The Galaxy S24 series will also be pre-installed with the Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software update, which will bring more AI-integrated cutting-edge technology to the smartphones. It is expected that some AI features will come with paid subscriptions for users.

Samsung Galaxy devices come with numerous customizable applications that offer a multitude of options, enabling users to easily customize the UI elements and participate in the Galaxy ecosystem. Among the many modules available, the Lockstar module offers the ability to customize the lock screen.

With the lockstar module, users get some additional options to customize the lock screen and AOD of the Galaxy smartphone and tablet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide the AOD-related customization feature for the Galaxy S24 yet, but now there is good news for the users as the company has confirmed to provide some additional settings for managing the Always on Display screen.

According to the information, some Galaxy S24 users in Korea have made numerous complaints and demanded some customizability of AOD through Lockstar. However, it is unclear if these changes will be implemented through the next application update or in a different way. However, the Good Lock support team has confirmed that they are actively working on this issue.

If we talk about the AOD customization option available on other devices, you can change the color and style of the clock and other elements, and you can also manage the brightness of the AOD manually.

Samsung ritually went with the fun and vibrant color option for its Galaxy Z Flip series, and this time also the brand could stay on the same strategy for its forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6—recent rumors revealing plenty of details regarding the sixth-generation Galaxy Z Foldable.

Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July. These devices have also been spotted on the 3C certification website, which points to an unchanged battery charging speed.

Now the Display Supply Chain Consultant, Ross Young, has revealed the color and storage variants of the upcoming foldable phones. If the reports are to be believed, Samsung could offer seven color choices for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which are as follows:

  • Crafted in black, light blue, mint, peach, silver shadow, white, and yellow.

The executive stated that the light green and silver shades will be marketed as mint and silver shadow. However, these color variants are already found on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It will be interesting to see whether Samsung will adopt a darker or lighter hue on the Flip 6.

The Crafted Black, Peach, and White choices are expected to be available in specific regions or in limited quantities. Notably, the lavender/purple color, which has been a staple on the Z Flips, is missing. Jumping on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, so the color options are still similar as previously reported. But here’s the catchable fact: Dark Blue will be marketed as Navy and Silver as Silver Shadow. A new light pink has also appeared, along with low-volume colors like black and white.

Apart from the color options, the reports also revealed that Samsung could continue to offer the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 in two variants based on storage:

  • 256 GB and 512 GB storage options.
