Beginning in April, Samsung Display, which is the screen-developing team of Samsung Electronics, has made an announcement at the CES 2025 event, where the company has clarified that it will mass produce the rollable OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display panel for laptops.
First showcased at CES 2025, Samsung Display demonstrated the latest rollable display that debuted on the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G6 Rollable laptop, which is ultimately a stunning flexible screen that smoothly rolls beneath the keyboard when a user doesn’t use it. The company further signifies that this is a comparatively thin and more energy-saving element.
Alternatively, Samsung Display also elaborated on the key factor of the new rollable OLED display panels by saying that this advanced mechanism is significantly based on on-cell film technology that efficiently helps in reducing its thickness while also improving the overall energy efficiency by integrating the touch panel layer between the color filter and the polarizer.
Samsung Display will begin the mass production of the latest rollable displays in April, and with this being the case, the main aim behind the development of rollable displays is to introduce more advanced innovations that add more comfort, portability, and immersive user experience in everyday life when using IT devices, especially laptops.
