Snapdragon 8s Elite First Details Show Familiarity with 8 Gen 3

Samsung is all set to use Qualcomm’s current latest Snapdragon 8 Elite for its Galaxy S25 series worldwide. Meanwhile, Qualcomm already started working on its next chipset called Snapdragon 8s Elite, and its key details have surfaced online.
Qualcomm is reportedly gearing up to launch its new mid-range chipset named Snapdragon 8s Elite with the dedicated model number (SM8735). According to the report, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will deliver impressive performance and compete with even some Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagships while maintaining a more competitive price point.
A well-reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station (via), revealed that the Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to achieve nearly a 2 million AnTuTu score, which is a similar performance range as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered devices.

It is also reported that the new chipset will not utilize Qualcomm’s custom-designed Oryon cores, which were introduced with the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. With the coming 8s Elite, it is planning to rely on a more conventional CPU architecture, featuring a Cortex-X4 prime core and A720 efficiency cores, resulting in a performance similar to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Noticeably, the chipset with the same model number (SM8735) was previously spotted in Xiaomi’s HyperOS software earlier this year and is expected to power the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro or Redmi K90. Reportedly, it is expected that other companies, including HONOR, iQOO, and OPPO, are planning to debut ultra-slim, camera-focused smartphones with the new Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset. However, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will use this chipset in future times with coming Galaxy devices.
