Samsung follows a typical software update schedule for Canada, often initiating the rollout after expanding to other regions worldwide. This pattern is also evident with the release of the July 2023 security patch. While the Korean tech giant has already updated flagship devices in numerous countries, the process has only recently started in Canada.
It is worth noting that the July security patch is now available for the Canadian models of the Galaxy A53 5G and all three devices in the Galaxy S23 series. This latest patch includes over 90 updates that significantly enhance the internal functionality of the devices. However, it does not introduce any innovative features for the Galaxy devices.
In Canada, the expansion of the July 2023 security update is identified by different firmware versions. Users who own the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra will receive the update with the build versions S911WVLS1AWFD, S916WVLS1AWFD, and S918WVLS1AWFD, respectively. On the other hand, the Galaxy A53 5G will be updated to firmware version A536WVLS7CWF4.
