Unlocked Galaxy S21 FE Receives September 2023 Security Update in the US
We are now at the end of the month, but the company is still introducing the September 2023 security patch to the eligible devices; however, the company has already updated almost all the devices, even the Galaxy S21 FE. Informatively, earlier, the Galaxy S21 FE received the update in Europe and the US (locked variant). Now the unlocked variant is getting the update.
Notably, the Galaxy S21 FE is getting a new update with the firmware version number G990U1UES9EWH2. As of writing, the update was available on the Verizon network, but as we mentioned earlier, the update is available for the unlocked variants, so it will be available on all other carriers in the coming days.
The September 2023 update doesn’t bring any new features for the devices, but it will bring several new improvements for the devices. According to the official documentation, the latest patch includes a total of 62 patches, in which Google has added 27 fixes for resolving the issues found in the Android OS. Along with this, the update also fixes 35 fixes for Galaxy devices.
The latest update may also bring some internal improvements for the devices. It is expected that the update may also include some One UI 5.1.1 enhancements for the device, which can enhance your experience in several functions.
The September 2023 update is now live for the Galaxy S21 FE devices in the US. Users can easily install the latest update by going to the software update menu from the system’s main settings. The update will be available gradually to all devices, so it is possible that the update may not be reached on your device yet, so wait for some time; it will be soon available on your device.
The Galaxy S21 FE is a special device that is launched to give the feel of the flagship main series in an affordable range. The device was launched back in 2022; it came with Android 12 preinstalled, and later it grabbed more major updates. Currently, it is running on Android 13. After introducing the May 2024 security patch update in the US region for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has expanded the latest security update to the European region as well. It is in the initial stage, so the update is live for limited units, but it will be fully expanded to the whole region in the coming days.
Notably, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are getting the May 2024 security patch in Europe with the firmware version numbers S921BXXS2AXD6, S926BXXS2AXD6, and S928BXXS2AXD6, respectively. The update is currently spotted in Germany and is expected to be distributed worldwide in the next few days.
The latest update for the Galaxy S24 brings a new set of security enhancements. In a nutshell, there are more than 50 fixes, and Google has included 31 fixes that target bringing extra protection to the Android ecosystem. Along with this, the Korean giant also added 25 more patches that enhance the security of Galaxy devices exclusively.
Moreover, the latest update is coming with a software package of 452.81 MB, which indicates that Samsung may not add any innovative changes for smartphones, but it is expected that the latest software may bring some internal function improvements that will level your experience while using the device.
If you are using the Galaxy S24 device in Europe, a new notification should arrive on your smartphone to alert you about fresh software availability. But if you don’t receive any such notification, you can also check it manually by navigating to the system settings and selecting the software update menu.
