The Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is about to release on January 17, 2024, along with the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models, is increasing the hype every single day. Now we have our hands on the new features that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be getting.

Those who follow up on the tech updates will know that earlier it was stated that the Galaxy S24 series as a whole will be getting 2,500 nits as the peak brightness. But it seems there is an enhancement here; a recent rumor from tipster Ahmed Qwaider claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s dynamic AMOLED 2x screen may feature a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Will the S24 series become the brightest phones ever?

It appears that the peak brightness will exceed the earlier reported value by 100 nits. The thing is that the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will also receive the same peak brightness. If this happens, then the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the brightest phone, and for sure, it will surpass the iPhone 15 Pro and Google Pixel 8 Pro, which have 2,000 and 2,400 peak brightness, respectively. However, it is important to note that this figure may only be reached during specific HDR scenarios for a short duration of time.

Because it uses a logarithmic scale, 100 nits does not correspond to double the perceived brightness of 200 nits. Likewise, a screen brightness of 2,000 nits does not appear twice as bright as one that is 1,000 nits. Other than this, there is also another feature that is tipped to accompany the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Is 5x zoom coming to the Galaxy S24 Ultra?

The same tipster, Ahmed Qwaider, claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have four cameras: a 200 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, a 10 MP telephoto camera, and a 50 MP telephoto camera. It is said that the gadget will have 5x zoom capability for the purpose of capturing 8K footage. The S24 Ultra has updated the 50 MP telephoto camera, resulting in larger pixels and a greater resolution for better light gathering.

It will include an optical zoom lens that is five times more powerful, providing greater reach during the capture of 8K films. Further, the phone has better stabilization in both bright and dim light. Its AI Object Aware Engine is said to function with both front- and rear-facing cameras, and it needs to include enjoyable imaging characteristics like portrait effects. Ahmed also put forward that Samsung and Meta have teamed up to provide better image and video quality when uploading photos to Facebook and Instagram.
