Google Maps Adds Food Recommendation Feature to Help Users Decide What to Eat
When you search for a restaurant, the Google Map shows you the information about the nearest available restaurant according to the location, and when you tap on any of the restaurants, it shows you the pictures clicked by the restaurant owner or some users who visited there.
Now, with the new changes, there will be a separate tab that will help users bring about photos of food items that are available in a particular restaurant. This will include the name, label, and price.
All the information that is shared in the tab will be collected from the business and Google users. Google analyzes the aggregate data but doesn’t fully verify every attribute. Additionally, you may also have the option to see the price labels in categories like popular or vegetarian.
This option will stay open to be edited by users. There will be an option to edit, correct, or delete offensive dish names, or you can also suggest dishes not served here. You can also see the menu to take you to the dedicated tab.
It is expected that Google may use both user-provided captions and object recognition to label dishes. Currently, this tap doesn’t contain a full menu of food items served in the restaurant, but as it is the initial stage, we expect that it should be the best thing towards innovation. So if you want to enjoy all these features, then you should keep Google Maps up to date with the latest update. To do that, you just need to open the Google Play Store, then search for Google Maps, and if the update is available, tap on the update button.
