Glance could arrive in the US in the coming months and available on Android devices

Glance, a subsidiary of adtech giant InMobi Group worth about $2 billion, plans to launch its platform that offers personalized content on the lock screen of Android smartphones in the United States.

According to reports from TechCrunch, Glance’s US debut is expected within a couple of months. Glance offers multimedia content and casual games on the lock screen of Android devices and is currently present on approximately 400 million smartphones in Asian markets.

The company is said to be packaging a premium offering for the US, a market where people are more likely to pay for digital services.

Glance would change the strategy for the stars and stripes market, as telecom carriers control most of the smartphone sales that are sold alongside mobile data plans in the US.

The startup would therefore be agreeing with operators in the United States to launch Glance on different smartphone models within the next month; however, the negotiations seem confidential.

The rapid adoption of Glance has also attracted high-profile investors, including Google and Jio Platforms, India’s largest telecommunications carrier. And Samsung is also using this feature on the lock screen of its Galaxy mobiles in India and other countries.
