Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have Apple-like Always-on-Display

Always-on-Display (AOD) is one of the very beneficial and trendy technology. Apple and Samsung, both market-leading companies, adopted this technology in their respective iPhone and Galaxy device Displays. However, as always, Apple does things in its own different and advanced way; the same goes for Always-on-Display. This time, Samsung also tends to use Apple’s this technology in its upcoming Galaxy Z foldable devices.

Let us tell you how Apple’s AOD is different from the one Samsung has. Notably, Apple owns Always-on-Display, which lets us set up images, GIFs, and Full-screen photos on the lock screen wallpaper, that will be on all the time while the device is locked, as its name suggests. Besides, Samsung’s AOD won’t allow us to set GIFs or fullscreen images; instead, it just shows a small window through its “Image Clock” option.

Now, the Korean firm Samsung is also willing to add Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro-like option to its Galaxy devices’ AOD so that Galaxy users can also set fullscreen images and GIFs on their devices’ lock screen. As per the popular tipster Revegnus, Samsung will take the first step in that way by adding this iPhone 14 Pro-like full-screen AOD option to its soon-to-be-launched Galaxy Z Flip 5 device, which will be launched this July or August.

However, it is currently unknown whether the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 device will get this new fullscreen AOD feature or not. It is possible that this feature may reach some other premium Galaxy devices through the upcoming One UI 6 update, but there is no official confirmation for this. It will be interesting to see how Samsung makes this new feature different and better than Apple’s.
