Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy A54 are getting May 2023 security patch on Verizon in the US
Last month, Samsung rolled out May 2023 security patch to most of the devices; however, the US-based units of Galaxy devices haven’t received equal updates. But gradually, they are also getting the update, like now the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy A54 are receiving the update.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Galaxy A54 5G is getting the update with version number F916USQS2JWE3 and A546VSQU2AWE1, respectively. Currently, both of the devices are getting a new update on Verizon.
The May 2023 security update doesn’t come with any new features; the update only brings some security enhancements in the form of bug fixes; in a nutshell, the new security patch fixes over 70 issues that are affecting the Android OS and Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G have already received the One UI 5.1 in the previous updates. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is no longer eligible for any major update, which means it will not get One UI 6; however, it will grab some security updates.
Meanwhile, Galaxy A54 is the latest device in the A series, it was launched back in March, so it will be eligible for five years of updates, including 4 Android updates, which means users will get update support till 2028.
How to update
You should get a notification regarding the new update, and just tapping on it, you can easily install it on your device, but in any case, if you didn’t get notified about the update so you can also check the update manually by following the below steps:
- Go to the device settings
- Then click on the software updates button
- Now tap on download and install
- wait until the search is finished,
- If it shows the security update is available, tap on the install button,
- It will start downloading and get installed automatically.
Samsung has recently rolled out an April 2024 security patch update in the Galaxy S23 device. With the last update, it provided security-related enhancements, and now, with the same changelog, the UAE units of the device are getting a second security patch update.
Users of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are receiving new updates with the firmware S911BXXS4CXD8, S916BXXS4CXD8, and S918BXXS4CXD8, respectively.
As mentioned above, the latest update is coming with the same changelog; therefore, it is unclear what’s new with the update. Hopefully, the update will fix some bugs and improve the functionality of the devices. It is worth noticing that the update is coming after Android 14 and One UI 6.1, so the company may fix the internal issues.
On the other side, the company hasn’t published any official information about it, but if you are using the Galaxy S23 device in Middle Eastern countries, then you should update your device to the latest version by simply going to the software update menu, and if it shows the April 2024 security update is available, then tap on the download button.
Informatively, the Galaxy S23 device was launched back in 2023 and comes with Android 13. The latest version of the device has received one major update in the form of Android 14 and also provides the One UI 6.1 update, which has provided several new features. To get up-to-date features, the device will get three more major updates in the future that will enhance the working of the device.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is one of the rugged smartphones that is dedicatedly made for using it in any weather condition. It is worth noticing that the company hasn’t limited it to giving tough hardware but also keeps it up to date with its fresh software. In the last major update, Android 14, it has grabbed some new features, and unfortunately, it has also got an issue with the camera, which is causing inconvenience to the users.
Galaxy XCover5 getting a camera issue after Android 14
The Galaxy XCover 5 has received Android 14 and One UI 6.0, and after installing them, users have started reporting about the camera issue. In the reports, the consumers have pointed out that they are not able to use the camera focus like before. Since the camera is the most frequently used feature of the smartphone, its malfunction is significantly affecting the overall performance of the devices.

However, the Korean giant hasn’t yet released a statement regarding the issue’s resolution, despite the fact that the issue surfaced after the last update, suggesting a software update-related problem. Hopefully, Samsung could release a proper update that will update it to the latest version.

Notably, the Galaxy Tab A8 series has started receiving the April 2024 security patch update in South Korea and in several European countries. More specifically, the Wi-Fi and LTE models of the Galaxy Tab A8 are getting the update with the firmware version numbers X200XXS3DXD5 and X205NKOS3DXD5, respectively, in South Korea. Meanwhile, the European units of the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE and Galaxy Tab A8 Wi-Fi are getting the update with the firmware version numbers X205XXS3DXD5 and X200XXS3DXD5, respectively.
The April 2024 security patch update doesn’t bring any new features or changes for your tablet, but it will provide you with a bunch of security enhancements that will surely provide some extra protection against external threats.
It is worth noticing that the Galaxy Tab A8 tables are receiving the first update after One UI 6.0, so if, after the installation of the major update, you are facing any type of issue, then the latest security patch update may help you get rid of that issue.
