Galaxy A42 5G gets five new One UI 5.1.1 enhancements in the US

Samsung has introduced the One UI 5.1.1 update for its Galaxy devices. It is specially designed for large and flexible screen devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S8, and many more. The update has brought several fresh features, and Samsung has decided to give some of them to some other Galaxy devices, like the Galaxy A42 5G.

One UI 5.1.1 enhancement

The Galaxy A42 is getting several new enhancements with the new update; let’s know about them.

Gallery: There are three new changes applied in Gallery: first, it has received more styles for watermarks; second, it has grabbed the new copy-and-paste feature, which allows users to apply the same edit effects from one photo to multiple photos; along with this, it has also enhanced the Remaster picture with a newly introduced view to highlight individuals.

Samsung Health: When paired with the Galaxy Watch, Samsung Health now provides upgraded sleep management, including sleep score factors, sleep consistency, and sleep animal symbols. You can also access sleep coaching from your Galaxy Watch to track your progress and stay motivated throughout the day.

Quick share: in the Quick share function, there are two new features added: private sharing is added to set time limits and prevent recipients from resharing files; and it also added a share to contacts function, which helps to quickly find your contacts and share files.

Device care: With the new update, device care has received two changes: the option to clear app cache and the added memory resident apps option for managing processes, along with enhanced memory management.

Mobile hotspot: For managing the hotspot, the new update has brought some new options, such as adding a dashboard for hotspot mobile data usage, adding data limits for managing hotspot usage, and adding a one-time password to provide temporary access to the hotspot.

Notably, the locked variant of the Galaxy A42 5G is getting a new update on the Verizon network and comes with firmware version number A426USQU7EWI1. It is also bringing a new September 2023 security patch for the device with the One UI 5.1.1 enhancements, which will enhance the performance of the device.

If you are using a Galaxy A42 5G affiliated with the Verizon network, then you should start to get notifications of the update, but if you haven’t gotten the update yet, you can also check it manually by going to the software update menu and going to the system settings.

One UI 6.1 Arrives for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+

After introducing the One UI 6.1 update to flagship tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S9 series and Galaxy Tab S8 series, the fan edition tablets have also started getting the new update. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ are starting to get the UI 6.1 update.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ were spotted getting new updates in Europe and South Korea. More specifically, in South Korea, the update is spotted for the Wi-Fi variant, which is coming with the firmware version numbers X510XXU3BXE1 and X610XXU3BXE1, respectively.

Meanwhile, in Europe, the 5G variant of these devices is getting a new update with the firmware version number X*16BXXU3BXDG, respectively. For the Wi-Fi variant, the update is coming with the firmware version number X*10XXU3BXE1.

The One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy Tab S9 FE devices doesn’t bring any AI features, but even after that, the update provides some significant changes for the tablets. With the latest update, there are several new features, like copy and paste from one image to another, more accurate image clipping, and multiple customization features related to lock screen, alarm, calendar, and many more.

Verizon units of Galaxy Z Fold3, Flip3, S21 FE, A54 updated to the One UI 6.1

With the latest development, several Galaxy devices have started receiving updates on the Verizon network. More specifically, the locked versions of the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S21 FE (2022) are getting new versions with the firmware version numbers G990USQUAGXDE and G990U2SQU8GXDE, respectively. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are getting a new update with the firmware version numbers F926USQU5IXDB and F711USQU6IXDB, respectively.
