Galaxy Tab S10 Series Confirmed via Model Numbers and Regions
A new Samsung Galaxy device is budding up, as the Korean giant started working on expanding its bigger screen device by introducing a next-generation tab under the title Galaxy Tab S10 series.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S9 back in 2023, and now, as a successor, the Korean giant has started working on the Galaxy Tab S10 series. The report says that Samsung is working on a new addition to the well-loved and popular Tab S series. This is being speculated by a spotted mode number, which points towards the forthcoming Galaxy Tab S10 series.
Reportedly, the Korean giant built the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Three model numbers for the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus variant come into existence:
- SM-X828U
- SM-X826B
- SM-X826N
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has the model number SM-X926B. Apart from the existence of the device and model number, no other details regarding the specs or design are known. However, the model number hints that both of these devices will be available in the global, US, and Korean regions. Noticeably, the report only reported the Tab S10 Ultra’s global model number, but the Ultra should be available in the US and Korean markets as well.
It is too early to guess the launch date of the Galaxy Tab S10, but based on past releases, Samsung usually launches new Galaxy Tab S tablets every 1.5 years, and the current Galaxy Tab S9 took the floor back in August 2023. By this prospect, it seems that the Galaxy Tab S10 could arrive in early 2025 or maybe along with the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung is looking forward to setting a new bar by bringing its forthcoming Galaxy Tab S10 tablet. However, this time the giant could try a new strategy, as it could only offer a single powerful and large-screen variant, called the Plus and Ultra variants. This new step seems to go against Apple’s recently released iPad with an OLED display.
Samsung May ditch Galaxy Tab S10’s base model
If the reports are to be believed, the Korean giant will start full-scale production of the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Ultra by the end of this month. This time, the basic model of the small size could not be the dedicated part of the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Typically, Samsung releases three variants in a tab series, including a base, plus, and ultra based on screen size. But it’s not the case anymore for the Galaxy Tab S10.
The upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 is expected to switch to models with large-screen displays. Earlier this year, in May, Apple debuted the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models with OLED displays, but this is the first time an iPad has been equipped with OLED.
On the comparison side, Samsung has featured OLED panels in its Galaxy Tab S series since 2014. Whereas Apple has debuted its new iPad, which features an enhanced display, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 is interpreted as a strategy to differentiate itself with a large-screen AMOLED screen of 12 inches or more, eliminating the basic model.
The report says that Samsung could use MediaTek chips for the first time to power the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 models alongside Snapdragon chipsets. The aim behind this seems to be to counter the boosting price of Qualcomm chips and give Samsung more leverage in negotiations. MediaTek’s growing success surpassed Qualcomm’s smartphone AP sales volume last year.
An official from Korea’s information technology (IT) industry stated that “Samsung’s mobile division (MX) is now planning to use its parts strategy more aggressively like Apple’s as a set (finished product) company, which seems to be a signal for diversification of the supply chain.”

Despite being the leading smartphone, the Korean brand ‘Samsung’ is a step down from Apple since the brand was the second-biggest tablet brand in the USA.
Undoubtedly, Samsung and Apple are the two biggest rivals in the tech industry. In the USA, it seems that Samsung may have yet to be able to satisfy the customer, and as a result, it is unable to defeat its rival, Apple.
The Korean brand was the second-biggest tablet brand in the USA in the first quarter of 2024.
If the new report from Canalys is to be believed, then Samsung is in second place in the US tablet market.
In the first quarter of the year, Samsung sold nearly 1.8 million Galaxy Tab devices and captured an 18.5% market share, which is just 2% higher as compared to the first quarter of 2023. In Q1 2023, it shipped 1.76 million tablets and captured a 16.3% market share.
In the last quarter, the brand debuted a bunch of new devices in the US, including the Galaxy Tab A9+, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. It also sells the Galaxy Tab S9 series for customers who are interested in premium tablets that feature an OLED display and flagship-grade performance.
On the comparison side, Apple ranked first with 4.92 million shipments of iPads and captured more than half (50.8%) of the tablet market in the US.
Noticeably, these numbers fell to 8.8% as compared to last year, when it shipped 5.4 million iPads. It seems that Apple’s market share might improve by the end of Q2 2024, as the company launched its new iPad Pro lineup with Tandem OLED panels.
Amazon sells budgetable Fire tablets; it shipped 1.6 million tablets in Q1 2024 and captured a 16.5% market share. As compared to Q1 2023, it faces a massive drop of 21.5%. Whereas the Chinese firm sold just 389,000 tablets and managed to capture just 4% of the market. That is a drop of 35.4% from Q1 2023.
Microsoft delivered 262,000 Surface tablet PCs running Windows and earned a 2.7% share in the US during Q1 2024. Its shipments dropped by 30.1% compared to Q1 2023. Samsung is supposed to launch its next-generation tablet series, the Galaxy Tab S10, early next year.

The new report reported the 5K renders of the Galaxy Tab S10 Utlra, according to which its dimensions will appear as 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.45mm, which is ditto as its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which is a bit 0.05mm thinner. The Korean giant is sticking with quad speakers this time around, likely tuned by AKG once again. The power and volume buttons are housed on the right side of the tablet, and the S-Pen has magnetic charging on the back. It could feature a 14.6-inch display. Last month, the existence of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra was leaked, but yet there’s a lack of detailed information about the tablet. Jumping on the camera setup, it will include dual front and dual rear cameras. It is not exactly confirmed yet, but Samsung could power it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or the Snapdragon X Elite.
Reportedly, the memory package could include 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of internal storage. However, the report also suggests that maybe it could also bring a 2TB variant. Samsung has not revealed any specs or features of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, and these specs are based on renders.
