Samsung TV Plus to End Service for Certain Users in the USA

Samsung is shutting down its Samsung TV Plus for a select few US users. Samsung TV Plus, a free live TV service offered on Samsung products by the Korean giant, is about to cease for some users in the USA. This appears to affect Family Hub refrigerators currently, along with the shutdown happening after a software update in June 2024. At the moment, it is not exactly clear whether all Family Hub models are affected; this only applies to Samsung smart TVs and monitors as well.

It has come to light that new Family Hub fridge owners have filed a complaint through the official Samsung Community forums in the USA (via- Sammobile). However, these owners have already been notified that the Samsung TV Plus will no longer be available in their region. More particularly, a Samsung notification revealed that a Family Hub fridge software update is scheduled for next month. After the summer update rollout, ‘Samsung TV Plus will only be available within Mexican territories.’

Apart from this, other additional information is not available for now, but somewhere it seems that this new rule will only apply to Family Hub refrigerators rather than Samsung smart TVs and monitors. It is yet exactly clear whether this restriction to Samsung TV Plus affects every Family Hub refrigerator, which includes the new Bespoke AI series for 2024, or if the service will only be restricted to older Family Hub models.

There’s no official word regarding the Samsung TV Plus shutdown for all devices in the USA; currently, it only impacts a few users, likely on Family Hub refrigerators.
