One UI 7 battery drain issue has been fixed after updating Instagram

Samsung Galaxy users, in case you are struggling with quick battery drain issues right after installing the One UI 7 update on your smartphones, then update your Instagram app, as it’s a possible solution.

For the past few weeks, a large number of Galaxy device users, including Galaxy S24 & Galaxy Z Fold 6, after installing the Android 15-based One UI 7 on their smartphones, have started complaining a quick battery drain issues. Although having the battery drainage issue after receiving the major OS update is not a big deal, as once the device optimizes the usage pattern, the battery drainage automatically settles down.

However, after enough time, users are still struggling with the same high power consumption issue. Meanwhile, Google recently confirmed that the Instagram app has been draining the battery on several Android devices. Fortunately, the solution is already at hand, since updating to the latest Instagram build is solving the issue.

A Galaxy A53 user reported on Reddit, “If I go on a charge without using Instagram, I can easily squeeze out 6 hours on 60%. No clue what’s going on with the app, but it clearly needs some optimization in place.”

Regarding this issue, Google has issued an advisory titled “Battery drain on Android devices” on the official Android Help Community and mentions, “Starting today, Instagram is rolling out an updated app that should fix a battery drain issue on Android devices. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram app (build 382.0.0.49.84) to resolve this issue.”

The Galaxy users who have Instagram on their device and are facing a massive battery consumption issue should update to the latest version as soon as possible, even if they are not actively using it.
