One UI 8.5 Tipped to Debut with Galaxy S26 Lineup Next Year

Samsung’s current S series flagships, the S25 models are already testing the latest One UI 8 beta program; meanwhile, a recent report suggests that an all new One UI 8.5 is already in the making for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
With the upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 already set to debut with One UI 8, out of the box; in the meantime, surprisingly, Samsung is already started working on a new One UI 8.5 for the next generation Galaxy S26 series, claims the user, Tarun Vats via X.
In any case, the reports are to be believed, it will be a huge step of introducing One UI 8.5 from Samsung’s side. For years, Samsung has had a pattern of releasing the standard One UI x.0, followed by One UI x.1 and One UI x.1.1, respectively.
But this time, things seem to be changing soon. Samsung has released the last One UI x.5 version back in 2020 as One UI 2.5, while the One UI x.5 build is considered to bring some noticeable features and changes when compared to the other incremental upgrades One UI x.1 and One UI x.1.1.
Thus, this fresh report is claiming that Samsung appears to be returning back to the same One UI update release strategy where it plans to introduce One UI 8.5, beginning with the upcoming next generation flagships, the S26 family. Well, the One UI 8.5 will also run Android 16 on top, and so Samsung will proceed with it in 2026, while following Android 17 to be released later next year, may be.
However, the details regarding One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S26 series is scarce at this point in time, therefore, Galaxy fans need to wait once the latest build arrives on online servers for internal testing.
