It’s already July! Samsung is still continuing with the June 2025 security update rollout for its Galaxy devices. Now, the budget model Galaxy A16 units have already started receiving the latest patch across the US.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G models are getting a new software update that significantly integrates the June 2025 security patch and is now available for both the carrier-locked and unlocked devices across the country.
More specifically, the carrier-locked (T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Comcast, AT&T, and USCellular) Galaxy A16 units come with the version number A166USQS2BYF3, while the unlocked models are recognized as carrying the A166U1UES2BYF3 build number.
At the same time, as usual, such patches are only meant for strengthening the system safety, and similarly, the June security patch doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality. It packs a bunch of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were acknowledged in the earlier versions to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against potential threats and harms.
Beyond this, the update further brings certain optimizations for the device’s overall performance and adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior to offer a much more efficient experience to the users.
Well, the Galaxy A16 5G was launched in October last year, while US residents got the chance to witness the device in January this year. At the same time, the device has already been refreshed with the One UI 7 stable update, with many more to come in the future.
Currently, Samsung is distributing the June patch for the Galaxy A16 models in the US, it’s expected that the update will reach more eligible countries in the coming future.
