Samsung Galaxy S24 series owners who have participated are already testing the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program. At the same time, Samsung is now looking towards expanding the August 2025 security update for the non-beta participants, following Europe and South Korea.
Currently, Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra units are receiving the August update in the US, and specifically, the update is available for the Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile carrier-locked models in the country with the recognized version numbers S921USQS4BYG2, S926USQS4BYG2, and S928USQS4BYG2, respectively.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s August 2025 security update, however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it significantly focuses on improving the overall system security and core functionality in order to offer a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against more sophisticated threats or harmful attacks.
Additionally, the update further adds stability to the overall system behavior and also brings certain performance optimizations to provide a smoother and much more efficient user experience.
At the same time, with One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has indeed offered a host of improvements and other relevant enhancements to productivity, enhanced split-screen mode, Samsung DeX support for impressive multitasking, the enhanced Calendar app, advancements in Samsung Health, the newly added Reminder app’s interface, strengthened security and privacy, and much more. What about One UI 8?
Well, there’s still some time for the Galaxy S24 series to receive a stable One UI 8 update; meanwhile, currently, Samsung has lined up the Galaxy S25 series for a stable update somewhere in September, 2025. It’s expected that other Galaxy devices will get an official update afterwards.
