Samsung officially announced that it is looking forward to expanding its dedicated One UI platform to its home appliance lineup. Let’s take a closer look at the announcement.
The company took to its official newsroom to announce that the One UI platform is coming to its home appliance lineup. The software will bring a convenient feature for personalized AI-powered briefings called Now Brief.
Samsung will start rolling out a bunch of new software enhancements next month for 2024 models. The key aim behind bringing One UI to home appliances is to provide a unified software experience across its smartphones, TVs, and smart appliances.
With One UI integration, home appliances will support Common UI, apps & services, and device connectivity; for instance, Bixby, Gallery, and Samsung TV Plus will be available on different screens for seamless device interaction and media consumption.
Smart appliance users can now enjoy a familiar smartphone-like interface with Now Brief. Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team of the Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “By bringing One UI to smart appliances, we are transforming the way people interact with technology in their homes.”
Samsung revealed that it will offer software updates to 2024 Wi-Fi-enabled home appliance models for up to seven years. It is setting up for a series of updates for its eligible 2024 models next month. It will offer Knox Matrix to its Wi-Fi-enabled refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, EHS, and slide-in induction ranges.
