Samsung Dominates Indian Tablet Market in First Half of 2025

Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy Tab S11 series next week, after shipping the highest number of tablets during the first half of this year in the Indian market.

The Korean tech giant is actively working on expanding its tablet family this year. Recently, it announced the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, and now we’re looking forward to the launch of the Galaxy Tab S11 & Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra on September 4 and the Galaxy Tab A11 by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, a new study by the International Data Corporation (IDC) revealed that Samsung has secured the leading position in the Indian tablet market by shipping 889,000 Galaxy Tab units in H1 2025. With these unit sales, the company earned a 41.3% share in the tablet market.

However, the sales rate of the company fell 38.1% year-over-year, as during the same time last year (H1 2024) it shipped 1,432,000 Galaxy Tab units and had a 45.2% market share. One of the reasons behind this fall is that the Android tablet market in the country shrank by 32.2% in the first half of this year compared to 2024.

Lenovo is in second place with 264,000 shipments, which helps it to secure 12.3% market share. Apple shipped 253,000 units of iPad models and ranked third. Xiaomi and Acer ranked fourth and fifth with 11.4% and 9.1% market share, respectively.
