Samsung Galaxy S26’s “Pro” title is in question

Samsung is gearing up for its next flagship-level smartphones under the Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Pro, which is anticipated to have minimal upgrades.
Samsung is actively working on the Galaxy S26 lineup to launch in early 2026. The previous reports revealed that this time, the company is considering rebranding its Galaxy S-series model’s name; for instance, the base variant will be called Pro (Galaxy S26 Pro), and Plus will be replaced with Edge (Galaxy S26 Edge).
Meanwhile, a now reliable tipster questioned the Galaxy S26 Pro’s title, as he claims the device doesn’t deserve its “Pro” tag. @UniverseIce revealed that the Galaxy S26 Pro will bring only two notable upgrades, which are as follows:
- A 50MP ultra-wide sensor
- A new primary camera
According to the tipster, the device will feature a newer primary camera than the current Galaxy S25 and a 50MP ultrawide sensor instead of an older 12MP. Apart from this, the other aspects, such as the 10MP telephoto camera and a display with Full HD+ resolution, will remain the same as the current model.
All of these facts raised the question about the Galaxy S26 Pro title and whether it deserves the “Pro” tag. It remains to be seen whether it will stand strong against its rival, the iPhone 17.
