Samsung is developing its next flagship smartphone chipset, Exynos 2600, which is now anticipated to power the standard variant of the Galaxy S26 series.
The Galaxy S26 series has been in the development phase for a long time. It’s almost confirmed to include three models, without even the Plus variant, which are as follows:
- Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung is supposed to launch these next-generation smartphones in late January 2026. To date, leaks and reports have revealed multiple details of the series, including the processor. Now, a new report from TheBell claims that the company is considering using its in-house Exynos 2600 chipset for the Galaxy S26 Pro.
According to the report, Samsung begins mass production of the Exynos 2600 chipset, and it will be used in the “standard model of the Galaxy S26,” i.e., the Galaxy S26 Pro. It’s already been reported that this time the company will introduce the standard model with the new “Pro” branding name.
The rest of the other two models, including the Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra, are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However, Samsung hasn’t released any official statement regarding the processor of the Galaxy S26 series, so it remains to be seen whether this report will come true.
