Samsung is working on its next major One UI iteration, One UI 8.5, behind closed doors. While various leaked builds have already provided a slight idea of what to expect from the upcoming version, more reports continue to put One UI 8.5 in the spotlight!
One UI 8.5 has already been the new talk of the town for quite some time now, and leaks have been continuously raising the curtains over the coming version. Well, Samsung is preparing the latest software, as a few Galaxy phones are already being tested on internal test servers, uncovering various new and enhanced features.
At the same time, recently, a couple of reports flashed online, which offer more leaks regarding the upcoming One UI 8.5 version. First up, it is reported via Tarun Vats on X, suggesting that the newly leaked One UI 8.5 build (CYJH) adds a new Create option at the bottom of the screen in Samsung’s Gallery app and also brings a subtle blur effect into it.

Next report comes via CID on X, claims that with the latest leaked One UI 8.5 internal build (CYJH), Samsung is apparently supposed to completely prohibit software sideloading, whereas all the newer software builds will not be sideloaded anymore. It looks like Samsung is restricting the sideloading feature from Galaxy devices.

Other than that, the leaked CYJH build (via NirmalSri on X) further adds a new and fresh UI for Favorites contacts card in the Contacts app. Apparently, Samsung has perhaps redesigned the entire contacts card UI for a more visually appealing user experience. Noticeably, this newest addition is more or less identical to an Android 16 feature on Pixel devices.

Well, the development of the upcoming One UI 8.5 is already underway, while the One UI 8.5 beta program is reported to begin next month. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether these changes will make their way to the official One UI 8.5 version or not, as they are spotted on internal servers and are only for testing purposes.
