Samsung’s One UI 8.5 to integrate Object Eraser into the Generative Edit

Samsung has been closely developing its next major One UI iteration, One UI 8.5, behind closed doors, while several leaks and rumors have already provided a slight idea of what users can expect from the latest version. Meanwhile, another report has arrived regarding Object Eraser.

Basically, Samsung introduced the Object Eraser feature for the first time with the Galaxy S21 series, and there was no looking back since then.

At the same time, this AI-powered tool has become a game-changer for flawless photos, allowing users to easily remove unwanted people, objects, or shadows from their pictures directly through the Gallery app.

Meanwhile, a fresh post shared by the tipster, Tarun Vats, on X, claims that with the latest leaked One UI 8.5 version, Samsung seems to be integrating the Object Eraser feature into the generative edit, making it more convenient and quickly accessible via the Samsung Gallery app.

Well, this is not it; leaks have been circulating online for quite some time now. Also, a previous report has already suggested that Samsung is perhaps looking towards adding a new create option at the bottom of the screen in the Gallery app and even adding a subtle blur effect to it, while also bringing a new and improved UI for the Favorites card in the Contacts app and prohibiting software sideloading.

Nevertheless, it’s important to note that such reports are coming from a leaked One UI 8.5 build that has been tested internally. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether these features or changes are limited to the testing purpose or the company will implement them in the upcoming official version.
