It is believed that Samsung has reached the conclusion of the ongoing One UI 8 update rollout for its eligible Galaxy devices. However, it appears that this is not the case, as the company is starting to release Android 16-based software for the Galaxy S21 FE, and hence, the rollout process is still ongoing!
Basically, Samsung has started delivering the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S21 FE (2022), which is now available in the US for the Verizon-locked devices. Also, the update is expected to be expanded to even more countries in the coming weeks.
Specifically, the latest software firmware for the Galaxy S21 FE has been identified with the G990USQUJIYJ2 version number, while the Galaxy S21 FE (2022) has the G990U2SQUHIYJ2 version number.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s One UI 8 is topped up with the excellence of Android 16 version, which significantly brings new UI elements with more vibrant colors, improved widgets, and optimized layouts that eventually take the entire user experience to the next level.
At the same time, the software further adds upgrades to the Galaxy AI, alongside bringing upgrades to productivity, security & privacy, and accessibility to provide a smoother and stable experience for the users.
Other than that, the update also integrates the September 2025 security patch that focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and performance to offer a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against external threats and attacks.
