Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera setup becomes a hot topic among tech leakers, as a reliable tipster has now contradicted a recent rumor regarding the camera of the device.
The Korean tech giant usually prefers to reiterate proven technologies or formulas for its new products, integrated with a few internal changes and minimal cosmetic variations. The same strategy is expected to be adopted for the next-generation Galaxy S26 Ultra, especially in terms of camera setup.
In a few recent days, various leaks and reports regarding the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera have been surfaced online; for instance, Samsung plans to offer an AI upscaling-based Telephoto camera to the device, and it will feature the similar camera setup to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the only difference in the Galaxy S26 Ultra is that the traditional 10MP 3x 1/1.39 size sensor is replaced by a newer 12MP K3LD.
Now, a reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a new post on X, criticizing the recent leak and instead pointing to what they believe are the correct specifications of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s cameras.
According to UniverseIce, out of these, the primary 200MP, 50MP ultrawide, and the 50MP telephoto with 5x zoom remain unchanged from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The notable fact is that it claimed the 3x telephoto, which was reported to be upgraded to 12MP, may not be upgraded at all.
Instead of this, the company is picking a 10MP sensor, which measures 1/3.94 inches in physical dimensions. It remains to be seen what will happen next and which tipster’s leak will come true.
